Ian Richards, PhD: Senior Director, Safety and Quality
Dr. Ian Richards is Senior Director, Safety and Quality at BioFocus having worked with the company since 2000. Before working at BioFocus, Ian spent 17 years with Aventis Cropscience (formally Schering Agrochemicals) originally as a synthetic chemist but later as head of the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Group; including responsibility for the GLP facility, where Ian was introduced to Quality management Systems (QMSs). At BioFocus, Ian has developed his QMS’s experience and the company’s ISO 9001 compliant QMS and BioFocus’s safety systems, both of which he is now responsible for. Ian obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge in 1983. Ian is the author or inventor of over 40 publications and patents.
