  • Galapagos extends drug discovery collaboration with Amgen into 2010

    Galapagos NV (Euronext: GLPG) announced today that its service division BioFocus DPI has extended its longstanding drug discovery collaboration with Amgen through 2009 and 2010. BioFocus DPI will continue to provide biology, computational and medicinal chemistry services and will supply small molecule compounds for use in Amgen’s discovery programs.

    BioFocus DPI and ZoBio announced today that they have signed a worldwide marketing and sales agreement for ZoBio’s fragment-based NMR technologies. Under the terms of the agreement BioFocus DPI will sell ZoBio’s services either as a standalone offering or in combination with BioFocus DPI’s drug discovery offering.

    Galapagos NV and Sareum Holdings plc announce today that Galapagos has acquired Sareum’s assets in drug discovery services, for a total cash consideration of €695,000 (£553,000). These assets will expand and strengthen Galapagos’ service division, BioFocus DPI, by adding structural biology to its pre-clinical drug discovery capabilities.

  • NIH extends agreement with BioFocus DPI

    The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) have extended their agreement with Galapagos’ service division BioFocus DPI for the operation of the Molecular Libraries Small Molecule Repository (MLSMR) until December 2010. According to the terms of this agreement, BioFocus DPI will receive more than $9 million (€5.7 million) over the course of the two year extension.

    BioFocus DPI, a Galapagos Company, announces the launch of the U.S. National Institutes of Health Clinical Compound Collection (NCC). The collection currently contains 446 bioactive compounds, most of which are known drugs. The NCC is managed and distributed through BioFocus DPI’s Compound Management facility, home to the NIH’s Molecular Libraries Small Molecule Repository.

  • Galapagos extends drug discovery collaboration with Lilly in nuclear hormone receptor research

    Galapagos NV announced today that its service division BioFocus DPI has extended its drug discovery agreement with Eli Lilly and Company until end 2008. BioFocus DPI will screen certain compounds as provided by Lilly against certain selected assays in quarterly screening regimes to identify active compounds and provide selectivity information to Lilly for Lilly’s nuclear hormone receptor research program.

BioFocus DPI will apply Galapagos’ proprietary adenoviral platform to identify novel drug targets for the development of cancer therapies.
