Please join BioFocus for the second in a series of educational webinars aimed at guiding scientists in the implementation and application of ADME assays in early drug discovery. Following on from the success of Focus on Permeability, BioFocus will present a free webinar on the methods used for the assessment of in vitro drug metabolism.
Metabolic stability is often one of the first properties assessed in early ADME studies. An understanding of metabolic vulnerability is vital in developing successful drugs as compounds which are rapidly metabolised may need to be dosed more frequently in order to maintain optimal concentrations at the site of action.
The webinar will:
- describe the common in vitro systems used for the measurement of metabolic stability
- outline methods for metabolite identification studies and reactive metabolite assessment
- indicate at which stage of the drug discovery process particular assays are appropriate
- provide guidance on both the value and the limitations of the data produced
- discuss the capability of in vitro metabolism data to predict the in vivo situation
Presented by Dr. Alan Beresford, Senior Research Fellow at BioFocus, the webinar is aimed at all drug discovery researchers wishing to learn more about methods for assessing in vitro drug metabolism, the data produced and how best to use it.
