About high content screening

High content screening uses cell imaging to show how cellular processes are affected by a drug or other factors. We have established techniques for applications such as:

  • Quantification of nuclear transport for transcription factors
  • Measuring phosphorylated proteins
  • Induction of cell death

Using bioinformatics software, cells can be found, focused, imaged and analysed on multiple fluorescent channels. As a result of this automation, drug effects on multiple cellular events or targets can be measured simultaneously in a cell, field of cells or cell subpopulation. This greatly reduces cost and lead times on target screening studies.
