Protein Kinase 2010: Signalling Success
Wednesday 20 October, The Nucleus, Chesterford Research Park, Saffron Walden, UK
The structure, mechanism of action and inhibition of protein kinases continues to capture the attention of the pharmaceutical and academic sectors. Confirmation of kinases as clinically relevant targets has been demonstrated recently by the success of drugs in the oncology market and the widespread occurrence of these targets in intracellular signalling mechanisms means that there is potential for kinase inhibitors in other therapeutic indications.
This is the fourth in a series of joint SCI-RSC meetings dedicated to the kinase family of enzymes. The symposium will detail recent progress in the area of kinase inhibition and it will address the challenges and issues associated with converting kinase inhibitors into safe drugs.
The meeting is aimed at all scientists from industry and academia that have an interest in furthering their knowledge of protein kinases. Plenary lectures will be given by Gerhard Müller (Proteros) and Stefan Knapp (SGC) and there will be additional leading speakers from industry providing case histories of kinase inhibitor research programmes.
Applicants wishing to be considered for the poster session should submit an A4 abstract here.
